Trusted advisers to South Australian businesses for almost 50 years

Hood Sweeney has supported South Australian businesses since 1976, when we began as PJ Hood & Co., an Adelaide accounting firm with a single client.

Over the next decade, the practice grew with the addition of partner Graham Sweeney, a new name, and a rapidly expanding client base across metropolitan and regional South Australia.

As South Australia’s business landscape evolved, so did our services. We introduced Financial Planning in 2001, Technology Services in 2004, and Finance in 2005, strengthening our ability to support the full lifecycle of South Australian businesses. More recently, we launched Blue Jam, our growth advisory offering, and expanded our technology capability under Orlo One, helping organisations across Adelaide and regional SA modernise and scale.

In 2012, ASX‑listed Count (CUP) acquired a shareholding in our firm, reinforcing our position in the South Australian accounting and advisory market. The following year, we merged with Shearer + Elliss, another respected Adelaide accounting firm with a shared commitment to client‑first service.

Today, Hood Sweeney is a team of more than 135+ professionals, with an Adelaide head office and regional offices in Clare, Kadina, Whyalla and Port Augusta.
