Mark Mullins

Mark worked in financial planning at prominent SA firms for more than two decades and is now a Director at Hood Sweeney.

He made the choice early on to make life insurance strategy and advice his key focus. Mark believes wealth protection is integral to financial planning and often overlooked, so he was determined to ensure it was core to the financial planning done for his clients.

Mark has a deep understanding of the complexity of the insurance industry and appreciates the value of long-term relationships with clients.

Mark’s strategy expertise covers all life insurance from individuals to businesses, and he understands the nuances of policies across different occupations and at different life stages.

Mark is on the Hood Sweeney Securities Board, which steers the strategic direction of financial planning, and is a Responsible Manager for the Hood Sweeney Securities Australian Financial Services Licence (AFSL), for which he sits on the Compliance Committee. In addition, Mark represents the Financial Planning service line on the Hood Sweeney Risk and Audit Committee to support consistency of processes and initiatives across the business. Mark also leads Hood Sweeney Finance and supports this service line with its strategic planning and business development.

As a strong advocate for working smart, Mark is a keen adopter of technology to support advice delivery. He believes that less time spent on administration means more time can be put into people – his clients and staff.

Culture is a key driver in any organisation and Mark is pivotal in leading the culture within the business. His commercial acumen and considered approach are appreciated in all forums, as are his reminders to celebrate our wins and support each other to be the best we can. Mark is also a keen sportsman and it is a team goal to beat him at any competitive staff event.

In his own time Mark loves spending time with his wife Jacqui and daughter Esther, and is a connoisseur of low and slow barbecuing.
