Adrian Zoppa

Adrian has been a Director at Hood Sweeney Securities for 10 years and became Head of Financial Planning in 2021.

Having worked in integrated accounting and financial planning practices since 2002, Adrian has developed extensive skills in financial strategy, ownership structures and portfolio management.

While Adrian has specialised in the health space in recent years, his client base is varied and he deploys his keen attention to detail and technical expertise to assist his clients to navigate their financial decisions.

“Over the years I’ve gained an understanding of the similarities of situations which arise based on a client’s occupation or industry, and can take time overlaying their personal nuances to find the most suitable strategy. This allows my interactions to focus on their story and I know this makes me a better Financial Planner.”

Working with clients with complex situations Adrian understands the importance of communicating with other professionals in their world, internal or external to Hood Sweeney.

“People are busy and facilitating solutions in a few meetings is something they appreciate, so whenever it’s achievable, I make sure it happens. All the individuals involved also benefit, sitting in on the discussion the client has with the other professionals helps you better understand the whole picture and how all parts interlink.”

Adrian is on the Hood Sweeney Securities Board, which steers the strategic direction of financial planning, and is a Responsible Manager for the Hood Sweeney Securities Australian Financial Services Licence (AFSL). Adrian is also the Chairperson and Chief Investment Officer of the Investment Committee, which is responsible for the due diligence and investment process for all Hood Sweeney Securities investments for clients.

As the Head of Financial Planning, staff well-being is also a priority and Adrian is committed to ensuring the team is positive. He prides himself on keeping the hierarchy flat and communication lines open.

For time out from work Adrian regularly escapes on long weekend jaunts with his wife Kelly and son Kirk, or plays golf at Kooyonga Golf Club where he has been a member for 25 years.
