Blake Guerin

Blake joined Hood Sweeney in August 2023 in an Adviser Support role, with the goal of becoming a Financial Planner.

Since joining the firm, he has progressed through a range of responsibilities, including administration, writing advice documents, and now providing financial advice while completing his Professional Year program.

Blake’s interest in financial planning developed through the Royal Commission into Misconduct in the Banking, Superannuation and Financial Services Industry. The issues raised reinforced the importance of acting in clients’ best interests and ensuring advice is appropriate, transparent and aligned with each client’s circumstances. This strengthened Blake’s desire to pursue a career focused on improving financial literacy and helping clients make informed decisions about their financial futures.

With qualifications spanning business, economics, finance and law, Blake brings a strong technical foundation to his role. He particularly enjoys working with families, retirees, and pre-retirees, and is valued by colleagues for his approachable and patient manner.

Blake enjoys developing tailored structures and strategies that help clients achieve their goals, taking a holistic approach to ensure their broader financial position is appropriately considered.

Blake is currently completing his Professional Year program and continues to develop his experience in client relationships, strategy development, and the delivery of personal financial advice.

Outside work, Blake enjoys keeping active through distance running, including regular marathons. He also enjoys trivia and quiz nights, with a particular interest in history, sports, and geography, and is currently learning Spanish. When he is not running or testing his general knowledge, Blake enjoys following Liverpool Football Club and the Western Bulldogs and spending time with his partner.
