Opportunities for the Sector
The Can:Do Group, under the leadership of Chief Executive, Judy Curran, was one of the organisations selected to trial the rollout of the National Disability Insurance Scheme. They have now been on the journey for almost five years providing valuable services to a broad spectrum of people in need. Judy and Deputy CE, Heidi Limareff, will share their story of the organisation’s experience so far and the future under a transformed service delivery and new federal funding model. The change has been enormous and their learnings will be invaluable to service providers.
Rob DiMonte recently commenced in a new state government role as the NDIS Industry Development and Market Coordinator General. An initiative of the South Australian Government, he has been charged to assist the State realise the benefits of the NDIS for the people of South Australia. Having consulted broadly with the sector since his commencement, Rob will share his insights and discuss the opportunities available to the sector and the steps they can take to enhance their service delivery capability to their clients.
Hosted by Managing Director of Hood Sweeney, Chris Stewart, this interactive panel will offer senior leaders in the sector unique insights into the challenges and opportunities from the NDIS.
Judy has been Chief Executive of the Can:Do Group since March 2010 and possesses more than 15 years’ experience in the not-for-profit sector.
Judy’s senior leadership experience in disability services and the private sector, combined with her passion, professionalism and strategic abilities means she contributes significantly to Can:Do Group, its clients, partners and stakeholders alike.
Heidi is the Deputy Chief Executive and General Manager, Operations and Client Services at Can:Do Group.
Heidi manages the day to day operation of all service delivery across Deaf Can:Do, Can:Do for Kids and Can:Do Hearing, leading a team of 5 client service managers and 55 staff.
Rob is the NDIS Industry and Market Development Coordinator General in South Australia focused on ensuring the State optimises the economic and social benefits from the rollout of the NDIS.
Rob is also Chairman of the Hood Sweeney Board and a Non-Executive Director of a number of other Boards including RSPCA SA, The Adelaide Botanic Gardens and State Herbarium, and Australian Grain Technologies.
Rob’s consulting experience spans over 35 years assisting clients in the public and private sectors with particular emphasis on business strategy, technology implementation and operations improvement.
