Money for nothing…

Do you want the State Government to give you money?

Hood Sweeney GrantsIf you are a South Australian small to medium business, keen to export home-grown goods and services, you may be eligible for State Government grants.

Applications are open for State Government grants for businesses at various stages of export experience, from new market entry to export accelerator – but you’ll have to be quick. The current funding round closes on 16 February 2019.

Administered by the Department for Trade, Tourism and Investment, the South Australian Export Accelerator Program replaces the Export Partnership program. It has been established to help small to medium businesses tackle international markets through marketing and export development opportunities, and by contributing to accommodation and travel costs.

There are currently three funding categories, depending on your place in the export cycle:

Emerging Exporter

If you are exporting for the first time with tradeable, export ready goods or services made in South Australia - grants of up to $5,000 are available to attend your first trade show, business connection or business mission.

Criteria include having annual turnover of $50,000 to $1million and being a South Australian business trading for at least 12 months.

Export Accelerator

If you are looking to expand your export business, which would in turn create ongoing employment opportunities, grants up to $30,000 are available.  You must have tradeable, export ready goods or service made in South Australia.

You must not be eligible for the other two grants.

To apply, you must have annual turnover of $100,000 to $15million and be a South Australian business trading for at least 24 months.

New Market Entry

Grants up to $15,000 are available for mature export businesses that have exhausted their grant funding but are looking to enter new export markets. You must have tradeable, export ready goods or services made in South Australia.

You must not be eligible for the other two grants.

You must have annual turnover between $250,000 and $20million and be entering a new international market, meaning you have had no direct sales in that market for the past five years.

All grants require applicants to provide dollar for dollar matched funding.

Applications for the current round of funding close 16 February 2019. To view the full criteria and application details, please click here or discuss your eligibility with the Hood Sweeney Food & Hospitality team.

Please note these are competitive programs awarded based on the merit of applications.

Timing for future funding rounds are TBA.
