How do I apply for a job with Hood Sweeney?

All current vacancies are listed under Career Opportunities. Simply click the relevant job advertisement to view the details and submit your application online via our website. These opportunities will also be posted on Seek (www.seek.com.au).

Can I apply for more than one job at a time?

Yes. You can apply for more than one vacancy if you feel you may be suitable for a number of the roles available, however you will have to submit a separate application for each role. If you are unsuccessful with one application but you have expressed interest in a similar role, then the Human Resources department will certainly reconsider your application for the alternative role.

Can I fax my application to you?

No. For confidentiality reasons, it is preferred that all applications are sent electronically in response to a specific advertisement or as an expression of interest. If you have any difficulties submitting your application online, please call the Human Resources department on 1300 764 200 to discuss other options.

Can I register for future opportunities?

Yes. If there are no suitable positions, we encourage you to register your interest via Expression of Interest. General applications are welcome as unexpected vacancies occasionally arise which require readily available applicants to fill the role.

Who has the ability to view my application?

The Human Resources team manages the recruitment process, having sole authority in viewing an applicant’s resume and personal details. Hood Sweeney adheres to a strict confidentiality policy.

Will I receive a response after submitting my application?

Yes. You will receive an automated email from Human Resources confirming receipt of your application. We will contact you if you are deemed suitable for the position to discuss your application. The recruitment process timeline may vary according to the role and the specific situation.

If I am deemed to be a potential candidate and progress to interview stage, what can I expect?

Firstly, we encourage you to research Hood Sweeney and familiarise yourself with the job description which is available via our website. We believe the interview process is just as much about you as it is about us, so come prepared to ask lots of questions. The interview will be conducted by a member from Human Resources and the immediate manager of the available role. During the interview process, they will inform you of when they will make their decision and whether they would like to proceed with your application. Depending on the outcome of your initial interview, you may be required to attend a second interview.

What happens after my interview?

If unsuccessful, you will be notified as soon as possible and be provided with feedback from Human Resources. It is a requirement that suitable candidates undergo psych testing and reference checks will be conducted. If you are deemed a successful candidate, a verbal employment offer will be made at which point Human Resources will inform you of the next step.
